Default Ninty donates 100 Wii's to YMCA

The consoles will be donated to YMCA outlets in “party packs” and will also be used in the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day events beginning April 14 at select locations. Games such as Wii Sports will be used during the activities.

Since the launch of the Wii, consumers as well as Nintendo itself have recognized potential health benefits related to playing the motion-centric game machine.

Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution has been being used in West Virginia schools as well as fitness clubs to help combat the obesity problem in children. A recent study showed this year that playing DDR actually improved kids’ health.

Think of something from your childhood, a vivid memory. Between that time and now, every cell in your body has changed. So, were you really there?

I say good ol Nintendo. A little bit of charity now and again is certainly a welcome thing

Let's see if Sony follows Nintendo's kindness

fat chance! NB: If Sony do donate 100 PS3s to the YMCA, disregard this comment

Alright then Nintendo dont worry about the hoards of gamers still waiting to get their console, give a little bit to charity and be seen as "aww arent nintendo nice".

not nice enough to provide more good games than i could count on my fingers months after launch though, ay.

Sorry, I'm in a bad mood! I feel like Ive got a console with all the potential in the world and it will only be fulfilled just before they launch the next one.

This could help overweight people but you can play sitting down so only your arms would get tired (on the games ive played anyway).
