Default Barack Obama says put down your wii remote and vote.

I'd rather Wii.

Obama: Put Down The Wii Remote And Go Vote | Wii Blog: Nintendo Wii News and Views

He features the remote in his ad. Quite resourceful, and an annoyance to this particular blogger. I don't blame him.

If this doesn't prove that Barack Obama is "down with the kids" I don't know what will! lol

But taking a day off to vote? (does it really take that long in America?)

It depends how long the wait at your polling place is.

Well I just want to say that I put aside my Wii playing and took the time to vote. So if this American living in the UK can take time to do it, the rest of the lazy, over 18 year old Americans can do the same.

Milky - I don't know how long it takes in most states, but where I'm from (Washington State) we have the option of voting by 'absentee ballot'. We can opt to get our voters ballot via the post, and sent it back or drop it off when we've filled it in.
I know in some states they are opening the polls already so people can start voting now. I don't really think there's a lot of excuses for people who don't/can't/won't vote.

From the page linked in the ad it seems Obama doesn't just want you to go vote, he wants you to take a day off and spend it on convincing other people to go vote for him. I'd rather play Wii for a day... not that I'm against Obama or anything mind you

Oh, and maybe you can't make history by playing Wii, but you sure can from your PC.

I posted my ballot as well. I was going to wash my hands of US elections after the last one, but couldn't pass up a chance at partaking of history and voting for Mr. Obama -- first Democrat I've voted for president since Clinton in '92.

I watched an article on BBC Breakfast this am where they interviewed peeps at a bowling alley. One woman said she was for Obama but wouldn't vote because she didn't have the time. Obviously too busy bowling. Maybe if she was WiiSports Bowling she'd have more time to vote?

Oogie has enjoyed Professor Layton over xmas.
Oogie's alteregos Lock, Shock and Barrel are into NDS homebrew, and are:
- very pleased with themselves for cracking the router problems
- enjoying the wifi connectivity with homebrew IRC

Is it me or does the Wii seem to be able to solve all of life's problems(?) lol

Without getting all patriotic and preachy on everyone, I really believe that if you cannot be bothered to voice your opinion and vote, then you have no right to complain about the way your country is run afterwards. You had a chance to make a difference, and you were too busy bowling (or whatever) to make it count, so now you'll have to just deal with it, you have no-one to blame but yourself.
[/rant]

And apologies
