I must admit I don't have any VC games, But that does sound alot better transfer rate. Must have been a nightmare dragging them on and off of SD cards for hours on end. Good news for you VC game owners then
I will do the update later aswell, I like to keep my Wii all up to date. I wish they would give us something actually worth updating for though
Yes, something for us rather than for them!

The SD transfer speed is apparently a significant speed boost. A 360 block Wiiware game can be transfered in 30 seconds as opposed to 15 minutes previously.
Whoa, I never knew it was so bad back then. I only recently purchased a 2Gb card after this recent update, and transfered some games. I can confirm that the speed is around that amount, maybe a little slower for me, but definately not 15 minutes I figure it was better to simply delete the game then re-download it when you wanted to play than to transfer it to a card.

Mine have never taken that long to transfer from SD ...?? Maybe I didn't transfer big files,

I transferred a 300-block game on Saturday from the Wii to the SD card and it took around 4 minutes, nowhere near the 15-minute mentioned. Although it was still a pain, this may ease it slightly, but not until we get the full use of playing VC and Wiiware games directly from the SD card. Hopefully with GH:WT leading the way, this will be sooner rather than later.
...in my experience they've only taken about 3 or 4 minutes to transfer even huge files across.
EDIT: On a side note...transfer speeds might vary dependent on the type of SD card you buy. Different manafacturers might have different speed limits on the cards. I dunno...i'm geeky, but that isn't my forté.

Two things to note: one, HBC not affected if already installed; two, 3.4 reportedly will also remove the opt-out on future updates (or at least Nintendo will be able to automatically install firmware updates on your system after putting this one on), so if you don't want that, best to disable WiiConnect24 after upgrading.
