The offical iplayer url now launches the "beta" interface. I tried it last night but all that was displayed were the tabs at the top of the page, the screen pointer was still spinning though. I gave up after a few minutes waiting.

Angry

Tried again tonight. Just seeing the tabs at the top of the page looks like normal behaviour on the first visit. You have to select a tab (e.g. Home) to get the preview pictures.
However still no good news on the Wii compatability; selecting recent programs just says "That doesnt appear to be working. Please try later".

One step forward, one step back.

I've read on a similar thread on Eurogamer that this has apparently been dropped by the BBC -- no official announcement mind you, but it's not working for anyone any more. No clue what's going on. Maybe they're improving it?

I hope it's not been dropped. It can't be that hard to implement for the Wii... Lets hope they are adding the finishing touches as you say?

Cool an insider might get us the straight dope. Another rumour is that the BBC wasn't keen on the fact that people have to pay to get the Internet channel to use it, but that seems a bit odd given that people need to pay to get a freeview box or digibox and a dish for freesat.
