[Rumour] New Wii coming 2007?

There is rumour that a new, better version of the Wii will surface in the coming months and that it will come in various colours.

I myself don't see a better console coming out. Different colours maybe and also if it was cheaper I think it would be for the console and not Wii Sports.

If it is better I can imagine they would add DVD playback. Doubtful that they will upgrade much else as it will cause compatibility problems.

yeah thats true. Even though DVD doesn't matter to me. As I use my Console's for gaming and the DVD player for movies.

It will be a case of Nintendo trying to milk more money out of the consumer. I reckon the upgrades / new model will be better but its like when Apple bought out the Ipod, at they time they bought it out they could have used a colour screen with the first model but they choose not too because it was more profitable to release the colour screen later if you get what I mean?

Well, at first when I read this rumour I was certain that it couldn't be true - why would nintendo release a new wii so soon after the original release. However, now I think about it, if you look at what Nintendo are doing in the handheld market - i.e. Gameboy Advance, then SP, then Micro,and next they had DS followed by DS lite :S

Could it be upping the power of the console, in order for graphics etc to be more comparable with the others?

This is an extremely old rumour. But there could be a bigger harddrive and dvd movies compatibility. You never know.
