Nintendo offers to replace wrist straps
Nintendo has offered to replace more than 3.2 million Wii remote straps after users complained that the connecting cord broke too easily.
However, a spokesperson for the company insisted that the offer was "not a recall". The current wrist-strap is "perfectly safe and has passed all the required safety tests" and there is "absolutely nothing wrong" with it, Eurogamer was told.

After reading on Game they had said Nintendo are not recalling Wii straps. As they are already strong enough. Link here

Well im sure everyone read the instructions before actually using the console. I know I always do.
I guess at least they will be replaced if they get broken.

I am guilty, only time I read them is when I get stuck.

I myself can't use stuff unless I have read the manual first. Whether it be a game or a console I have to read the manual regardelss. As I am one to set things upa nd do things by the manual. I don't know why I do that though. I guess I prefer to read the manual.

I never read the manual for anything! i just do whats obvious and it pretty much always works! But come on if your stupid enough to actually let go of your remote then you dont deserve a replacement.
