Well I feel quite fortunate not to have played double dash, as MK64 was great for me. Ah, those were the days, Wednesday nights at boarding school, winner stays on...

Nah, common room olympics if you weren't a good pleb. Under the pool table, hurdle a load of chairs while pool balls thrown *around* you then having to rugby tackle your 6th former. They stopped it when we became 6th form - not very fair really in one sense lol
i like double dash, dont think there is anything wrong with the controls (my opinion)

Musy say, I've never really had too much of an issue with Mario Kart until the other weekend when I was playing against my 6 year old nephew on the DS. Now, he's pretty reasonable at it but I've played it a lot more and am fairly good at it.
We were playing v's so was just the 2 of us, and I noticed for the first time, just how unfair the items were. I'd get a good start and be in the lead, doing well, and every item box I collected was either a ? box or a single banana skin. Meanwhile I'm getting bombarded by blue shell after blue shell after red shell, red shell, red shell.... virtually every item he got was either 3 red shells or a blue shell.
The number of times I was leading the whole race only to get hit by a succession of shells and lose the race.
Now I can see that if you are in my nephews place, ie playing against someone who is better than you, this massive imbalance of items seems brilliant cos it gives you the chance to win which otherwise you might very well not have. But when you are in my position, ie playing against someone who is not as good as you, it is SO SO SO frustrating to keep getting bombarded like that!!!
I hope (but sadly doubt) there will be options on Mario Kart Wii, allowing you to decide which items will be available in multiplayer at very least!!!
