Default Got one....

Just bought a wireless sensor bar from Virgin. It's a 4Gamers model and only cost a tenner .

The bar is about 3 times as heavy (with batts) as the one packaged with the Wii and twice as thick. The bonus is that it's also quite noticeably brighter...perfect for big rooms.

It uses 6 AA batteries (gives you 9V but will last a lot longer than a square 9v battery.....claimed as 30 hours continuous).

The on/off switch doubles up as an LED indicator (in the obligitary Wii Blue ) which is hard to miss.

Also comes with a (larger than standard) see through stand (which is why it appears to be levitating in this shot ).

Played a few games of Mario Strikers, Wii Sports and also mucked around on the home menu and it appears to give nice stable/solid light sources for the remotes to key on whenever you need the pointer functions.

Overall, not bad at all for a mere £10 and solved my problem nicely .

Also looks quite "standard" like the nyko one so doesn't look out of place in a home cinema setup:

I recommend it if you're in need of a solidly built, cheap solution for projector use.

Around here they are made by ASID... I have no idea if they are anygood...

I'll get one someday because like wii_man76 I travel my wii sometimes and I already got myself a component cable, so AV for the road. I got myself another powerbrick directly from Nintento, so the other stays in my room.
The last peace is that wireless sensor bar,

If it works better than the original... it will stay in my room,

It's possible with any LCD screen, but the risk is still far far less than Plasma screens (which have more of a propensity to this kind of thing)....which is why if I were to buy a flatscreen I'd go for an LCD over and above a Plasma at the mo'.

The projector is only for occasional Wii use as it involves unplugging the console and moving it across the room, plugging everything back in, then playing.......but when there's a social gathering / party, Wii Sports Bowling is FANTASTIC fun displayed on the whole wall in front of you.....definitely a step up from a measly 36" Telly

You won't see them as they transmit in the infra-red....beyond the range of our eyes.
However, the CCD sensors inside digital camera's can pick them up.
So turn on your wii, get out your digicam/videocam and point it at the senderbar.
Look through the viewfinder and, voila, you'll see the IR led's glowing purple .
