I just was seeing posts as the amount of posts you have in the forum as a whole but if it is being seen as posts contributing to Wii relevant discussions that seems reasonable.

@ Stephanii - your post count has gone done because thats how forums work.
if post count is disabled then it will check how many posts you have made in threads that they aren't disabled - then it will display them.
because the post a photo thread has moved into a forum where posts are disabled it doesn't count them. - if you've lost around 50 posts then in my eyes that kinda shows how out of hand and 'chatty' the post a photo thread was getting!

i don't see why this is causing such a problem?
i think it will now show a good indication of the members who actually talk about Wii related things, as they will be rewarded with post count.
those that chat generally dont get an increase - as it was said before.... this is wiitalk afterall

i will be the first to admit, i don't chat much about wii stuff on here (i use it more for information than anything), and spend more of my time in the more general forums.... but then it doesn't bother me.

I agree with the fact that the post a photo thread was chatty but think out of hand was a bit much.

I feel everyone has kinda jumped to the conclusion I was attacking the decision made to put that thread there..

I was just questioning why the post count went down and having a discussion about the post thing when everyone seems to be going against me for questioning it..

Hey, I was just about to make a thread about this, but I thought this would be the place to ask it.
I have been on this forum for a while, and there is one thing that has been annoying me that I thought was unfair. I have a post count in the hundreds, but I dont deserve it. I have put most of my posts into the introduce yourself section, mainly, the Fanart subforum.
I would like to suggest that the posts in the fan art section are not counted towards your post count. The reason for this is that this forum is for wii discussion, but posts in the Fan-art section give no addition to wii discussion. I know that this would remove alot of my posts, but I think that if people joined this forum, then posting sigs doesn't reallly contribute to wii discussion.

I also thought that the intro sectiin shouldnt tally on your post count as a good deal of my post have been from welcoming new members .
But most people use that section to ask questions when the sign up anyway so it becomes Wii relevant .

Yes, but I was actually trying to target just the fan-art section in my post
I would lose alot of my posts if it was not counted, but It just isnt fair.
Plus, even if they want to ask a question, then they could go to the wii discussion center, see a question they could answer, then become a member alot easier.

I never notice if my post count goes up or down and didn't even know anything about this till right now, I just come here to chat about things to do with the Wii and have a bit of fun, post count is just a number I occasionally have a look at

Good idea, but lots of other people's post counts would go down as well. I had enough backlash from when I moved the Post a Photo thread to the Wii Break section. I don't know what it would be like if I did it to the whole section.

If we stopped post count in Introduce yourself, it would just cause too much confusion amongst the new members, who almost always post there first. I would get loads of PMs saying 'My post count isn't working!' But as you say, most posts in there are usually Wii related.

sorry to be a pain jb but do you think the ds online section might be worth making non post count? don't like to spam but feel guilty if i don't thank people for the races etc?
