The WiiTalk Awards Discussion Thread

Here by popular demand if the discussion thread for the WiiTalk awards.

I have decided to start this feature to mark my reaching of 2000 posts, and I originally mentioned it here: http://www.wiitalk.co.uk/forums/intr...elf-again.html

Basically, this thread will be open to all suggestions for categories, ways to run the awards etc. I have received some suggestions, but if you can post all of them in this thread, then they are all in one place, and everyone can discuss them.

Once I feel I have a good list of categories, and I know exactly how people want to see it run, I will ask 21stcentury for a new sub forum where the nominations threads can be put.

I will probably run two categories at a time, so people don't lose too much interest, but so it can also last for a good couple of months.

Now, over to you! Remember, this is a thread for discussion, not nominations. They will take place at a later date, and when they do take place, you will all know about it!

my ideas for awards: award for stupidity, award for most random, award for the weirdest.

i think they should be ran 2/3 at a time, as to stop the majority of people becoming bored of discussing one nomination.

at least a week or 2 each poll should go on for.

JBond has already mentioned those, I think.

I think some awards for avatars, user names and signatures would be good.

I also think a best thread award would be good.

How about an award for fastest on the button, where the person who most frequently gets a first reply to a thread wins the award. Well it's just a bit of fun, as Keith Barrett would say.

I think that's the reason a forum specifically for this has been requested.

Plus I thought of another 2.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

I really want to kick this off soon, and will probably get the first 2 categories underway on Monday. So, what are the first categories people want to see. Or would it be easier for me to pick 2 of the one's already suggested to kick things off?

This doesn't mean you have to stop the suggestions coming in though!

Each catergory will have it's own thread. Nominations will take place for a period of time, say 2 weeks. Then the 4 with the most nominations get put in a poll. The winner of the poll wins the award and the custom title! Long-winded...Maybe, good fun...definately!
