No post count for the Medal of Honour tournament sub forum - WiiTalk

It has been decided that the MoH tournament sub forum will now be set so posts made in that section do not count towards your post count. It seems many people sign up purely to use this section, which is by no means bad, but most posts are made up of posting scores, and basically arguing etc.

I, and many others, believe a post count is very useful for showing how established the member is. New member's will turn to those with high post counts, because they either have a bigger knowledge about the Wii, or know the forum better than others, or both.

As a result of this change, some post counts will decrease. For those where a post count matters most, like the more established members, I will make sure the post counts stay the same. For most of the others, they only post for the fun of the tournaments, and do not worry about their post counts as much. Post counts will not be set to 0, but substantially reduced to reflect how much someone has contributed to the site.

The online discussion thread will also be moved to the tournament section, as this thread is often open to abuse.

If you have any major concerns, let them be heard. It won't happen for a few days as it will be a big job to edit everyone's post counts back.

Yes, all MoH threads will be moved to the tournament board. I will leave a redirect when I do it anyway.

Seems a bit like you're punishing people for contributing to the most active part of the site, but I can see the sense behind it, I guess. As you say they probably won't care about their post count anyway.

The people who only post in the MOH threads post counts will go down to maybe 1 or 2 because if he moves the thread all those posts don't count anymore.

To New People I Know Its Welcoming But If You Say That Every Member That Joins It Basically Shoots Your Post Count Up.......

That is true, but I'm not going to let people's counts go completely, I will add on some, because else it would be really unfair.

Well.

That's why I'm giving warning about the change, so if they feel really strongly about it, I will make sure their count doesn't change too much, but it just won't ever increase anymore. But I would bet that most of them wouldn't care either way, so won't have any major objections.
