The whole of the moderation team believe this is the best option to WiiTalk. I didn't like the idea to begin with, but after almost a month's planning, I am beginning to think this could work really well.

This isn't something that's been decided recently, as JB mentioned, it's been in planning for over a month now!
We've all spent time on that forum getting a feel for the community over there and while I'll admit there are a few bad apples, I feel most are very similar to the type of people we have on WiiTalk. Both Moderation teams have agreed to toughen up on the members in a bid to make this work.
It would be nice to hear from at least one person who's in agreement and/or doesn't think this is a joke

The moderation team's of both site's will remain the same. The layout will be worked on, and the site will be redesigned, hopefully with the assistance of the sig makers, who could design the new site logo. We have been discussing possible names, and we think WiiTalk would be best, due to the fact our's comes out on top on Google. However, due to WiiChat being bigger, we decided it would be best we merged into their site.
