Hmm, Im not sure about the DS. I would love one too as I always ask to borrow my sisters, but its just that if you buy a DS then you will be more tempted to start buying all new games for the DS leaving not much money for the Wii!
The other half has an army game for the x box and loves the online play. Ive tried playing it but just dont get on with the controlls to get much use out of it. So i would say MoH purely for the online gaming!

The DS may cost more, agreed....but it will provide more fun in the long term.
Here is a breakdown of my DS hardware (not including my games, but including the bundle pack):
Nintendo DS with New Super Mario Brothers £110
White Rumble Pack £8
Crystal Case £4
Hori Screen Protectors £3
Wii strap lanyard £0
Protective game case £0
Total = £125 (so that's with a game.....take off the price of the game (NSMB rrp= £30) and that equals £95 for the hardware).
I also have an R4 with 2Gb Sandisk for the occasional homebrew = £33
Yes....adding any extra games costs more, and I was hesitant at first because I thought one or t'other would be neglected.
This hasn't been the case at all . Wii is used most of the time, DS is used when I want the odd portable game.
They complement eachother nicely imo .
ever since the captain introduced me to online gaming my wii hasnt had a look in! it's gotten even better since the wiitalk ds forum opened!
for starters MKds in my opinion the best MK of the series (can be frustrating playing strangers online down to the cheating) even better playing online with your friend codes!
42all time classics! a game i wouldn't normaly of looked at but with the added online option it's amazingly fun theres a chat system included so you can exchange messages during gameplay (up to 8 players) which leads to some great comedy moments
new super mario bros! classic 2d mario action some great new ideas in there (if just a little to simple)
tetris! just purely for the online games (four player with weopans is great fun)
warioware touched! everything the wii version should have been like! amazing use of controls and great mini games
like <mojo> mentioned in his post earlier every one with out a ds has been missing out on some great action lately
Ooh online on the DS, why didnt i think about this before.... I have just mentioned to my bf about the DS, he said "Let me see what I can do." Wooo! DS on its way, I'm so spoilt.

Well I had a quick look on amazon a min ago and the DS was back in stock!
So I ordered a White one (Although I do have to admit that Crimson and Black one looked superb! If only they were available in the UK...)
Thanks for all the replies and opinions guys, I think I'll be very happy with this choice and I still intend to buy Guitar Hero anyway!
Now the question moves onto DS games...
Basically the 2 I've asked for are Mario Kart DS and More Brain Training. I've been Um-ing and Ah-ing the past few minutes about all the others on offer, but I can't make a decision!
Basically there seems to be a lot of good games out there! So what do you recommend??
I was thinking about Zelda PH, but I'm not sure I want a game as 'Involved' as that for the DS... I think I'd prefer easy to pick up and play games rather than big epics After all, that's what the Wii is for! Also, I'm looking to take advantage of the Online capabilities, so games that support this would be great (This has A LOT to do with our new DS section and how much fun you seem to be having!)
So some of the other titles I've been considering are:
Advance Wars (But which one?!) Yoshi's Island (loved the original, but does it stand the test of time?) The NEW Super Mario Brothers Animal Crossing (This game has always looked interesting...)
What are people's opinions of these and are there any games that I've missed?!
Once again, thanks guys and I look forward to more helpful replies

I was about to vote other and reccomend Zack and Wiki, then noticed the poll's closed. D'oh!
As for buying a DS - I wouldn't.
Rumour has it that the next version of the DS (minus GBA compatibility) is just around the corner. That's half the reason I sold mine on Christmas eve for £123.
Even if the rumours of it being imminent prove false, you just know it will happen in due course....
<insert flashy thing here that makes me look wonderful and cool>
I would reccomend both More Brain training and MKDS, and love them both. I also like the New super mario bro's, even though I only borrowed it from my friend for about a hour. If you liked the pokemon series, then Diamond and Pearl are very excellent.
@Craig: I wouldn't really like that no GBA compatibility. I still have a First-Gen DS because I really like being able to go back and play my GBcolor games.
I'd prefer to keep the option to play GBA games, that way you can buy some cheaper older games from the GBA for your DS and dont need to go buying a GBA to play them.
I'd like to get all the Zelda games for the DS and the GBA just because I feel like I'm missing out!
Skyman, about the pokemon games? I bought the blue one when I was younger and then bought the yellow version a few years after but realised it was exactly the same game but different-ish pokemon, is this the same for the Diamond and Pearl versions?
