Yes, you're right, but it would be the same principle as mentioned (it will
still involve splicing ----- in this case splicing a 9Vdc cable into the senderbar cable). Alternatively, you could try what I initially tried of connecting a 9V battery to the contact ends in the plug, but this time using the ends of the 9Vdc cable, I found it to be quite fiddly and didn't always stay in place when I tried........but you're post prompted me to find an easier way

Interestingly, after hunting for a close up, I found this:
It's a purpose built extension cable designed specifically for the special plug the senderbar uses - in which case this
would be a case of no splicing, plug and go.
It's 5.6ft long and kind of renders my whole post moot

(I'm already using the 4gamers wireless bar, but I'm still happy with it as it chucks out more IR than the official one so is perfect for bigger rooms).
If you get the extension lead from Divineo (which, considering it's only £3 each, and you can daisy chain them for longer length

, seems like a good buy) it would be interesting to see how you get on (would you mind posting back with your results if you do?)
