So I walked into the Car Phone Warehouse on Sunday and saw an iPhone on display.
Along came the bimbo sales assistant, asking if I needed "help" (whether this was a general question about my life or a direct enquiry re:aforementioned phone, I don't know
).
Here's how it went (me,

No. I have an (speak slowly) A p p l e c o m p u t e r. It will be fine with that.

(at this point I think I've wondered into the twilight zone). Are you seriously telling me that
even though I own a computer from the
same company that made the phone (points deliberately at the apple symbol before the iPhone name), I will have a problem between them? They'll just work together as is.
Er....I'll just go and check (disappears around the corner)
(I stare dumbfounded after her for a bit and then take the time to fiddle with the phone and read a sheet about the contract myself)
(She returns) Well i've chatted to the manager and he says he thinks it might be OK.
(I'm truly gobsmacked at this point) but it's an APPLE iphone, and I have an APPLE mac to use with it.
(looks blankely at me)...yes....(looks blank some more)......
^^^^I couldn't think of anything to say, I was too stunned (at that point I just said bye and walked out). I think if she actually had to use her brain one day it might end up lethally injuring her (in which case she'd probably be a prime candidate for the Darwin Awards).
In any case, rest assured the iPhone will NOT sell out in the UK (with such
