Default Reunited with my Wii!

Yes it's true, I am once again at one with my Wii (Even after 8 months that still sounds a bit dodgy). Obviously I've had a few things to keep me occupied in my first few weeks of Uni, but now the work has begun and the studying has started I feel it will be getting plenty of usage

There's nothing quite like seeing the looks on people's faces when they find out you have a Wii. The reactions are always pretty much the same 'Omg, you have a Wii?! Can I play?'
And then a few games in 'This is so fun, I'm going to get one of these!'
It's in those moments that you become truly proud of your purchase and you realise why the Wii is such a social machine. I was sat with my flatmates the other night as we went through a load of games that had everyone smiling and laughing. You have games like Wii Sports that are a great introduction to what the Wii can offer and gets everyone up and moving. Then you can bring it down a bit with Big Brain Academy with it's competitive edge, perfect for students!

By now, everyone knows about the Wii and pretty much everyone, who hasn't already, wants to either have a go on one or own one. The TV ads are constantly on our TV screens and because people have never seen something like this before they immediately want to try it out. The fact is the Wii is 'Cool'. It's the thing to have. When I first got mine I remember my own Dad telling his friends and associates that we had one and just how hard it is to get and he's a teacher! Hardly the stereotypical gamer. When, in the history of gaming, has it ever been considered 'cool' to own a particular console?! Has anyone ever seen your Wii and come out with something like 'Ah, your a gaming geek I see'?

Us Wii owners can take pride in our console choice and mention it in conversations without ever being worried that the other person will label you as a typical 'gamer' (even though most of us are ).
Nintendo have done more than just create a great console that has put the fun back into playing video games. They have created a machine that almost everybody wants, but only some have... and that my friends, is the essence of 'cool'
