as i get older i get less and less bothered about graphics! i can remember at time when i was influenced by how a game looked (spent a fortune on dragons lair arcade which looked great but played crap etc
)
much rather have real good playabillity over looks these days which is why ive always been such a loyal nintendo fan
thats not to say that graphics arn't important though as it's always nice to have something pretty to look at!
a bit like efects heavy films in away you can spend a hundred million pound budget on special efects that look great but still have a crappy film under all the gloss (which will work in the short term but have very little re-watch value/after sales)
