It benefits sniping as well. Horizental look speed is an obvious advantage granted you can control it. It makes things that aren't possible otherwise, possible. Aiming sensitivity as well since it makes you able to hit moving targets much faster when scoping. Makes it harder to hold still and headshot standing targets, but again if you can control it

I've been pushing it up a little instead of making dramatic changes and many of the times i instantly played better because of it.
IIRC my aiming sense is on 2 (third lowest), but it also changes alot from each time you up it and combined with my pretty small deadzone and high turning speed it seems fitting
