I would definately increase your horizontal look speed . Not sure if it will benefit sniping or not though ...could well be detrimental to it .
If you do have a fiddle around then just do it a little at a time ...ie: Put it up a notch or 2 then play for about 5 minutes etc etc
The good thing is that if you're used to the default then all you need to do is reset it if you don't like it .

A faster horizontal look speed is a must in my opinion though !
