Loget: You're too agressive with the gewehr if you let an mp40 kill you that fast just because you miss a shot. Either that or you need to learn better dodging techniques. Sure he might get you every once in a while in that way, but usually there should be plenty of cover to survive longer. But i guess that's why i also usually kill other SMG mains so quickly. Many people forget that their health regenerates and so they just go rampage...
Edit: Let me put it this way for you loget: Imagine you finding a sniper. Now imagine another SMG popping up. Imagine that SMG being me. You can be certain that while you are busy just shooting at that sniper i will go for you. Alright. Now who of us are going away from that place alive? The machine gun wasting bullets on another weaker target, or the guy taking out the distracted, stronger target? See? Going for the sniper is a bigger gamble seeing as you are going to have to face the other SMG afterwards anyway. As you just said the offscope only works close (unless you are very lucky - i once no scoped from one house to the other at random on village), meaning that even if you are weak after the first kill you have a much bigger chance at getting away and recover.
