Today I finally decided to get the ball rolling and start my life. I've been out of school for over a year now, working part time in a crap little shop earning pennies. I've not done anything about my career because I honestly had no idea what I wanted to do. But today I headed into my local AFCO (Armed Forces Careers Office) and began the application process to join the Royal Navy. I am genuinely excited about this as the job looks amazing; I'll get paid to travel the world. But I've got a long way to go. Need to go back to the AFCO to complete the application form, do the aptitude tests, fitness test, medical etc and that's all before I start the year's worth of training.

Also, today being D-Day, I'd like to take this opportunity to remember the servicemen and women who won Britain its freedom during the second world war, and to all our servicemen and women who continue to serve our country in Afghanistan and Iraq today.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
