Despite the fact SSBB hasn't yet been released. How to unlock the characters has. So if you don't want to know look away NOW!

You can unlock them by working through the Subspace Emissary Mode with different characters or...

Ness - Play 5 Brawls
Marth - play 10 brawls
Luigi - play 22 brawls
Falco - play 50 brawls
Cpt. Falcon - play 70 brawls
Lucario - play 100 brawls
Solid Snake - play 130 brawls
R.O.B - play 160 brawls or collect 260 trophies
Mr. Game & Watch - play 250 brawls or complete target smash with 30 differenet characters
Ganondorf - play 200 brawls, or beat Classic Mode on Hard with Link or Zelda
Sonic - 300 brawls or beat Classic Mode with 10 different characters

These last 3 are behind secret doors...

Jigglypuff - The Swamp or play 350 brawls
Toon Link - The Forest or 400 brawls or complete Classic Mode after completeting SSE
Wolf - The Ruins or play 450 brawls
