Never played rouge leader but I know it's supposed to be very good. There are tons of awesome gamecube games.
All the above mentioned are worth getting, as well as:

Billy Hatcher
Doshin The Giant
Star Fox Adventures
Eternal Darkness
Animal Crossing
Can't think of any more right now but all the games mentioned in this thread are more than enough to get you started
